Team Ikuzawa
Team Ikuzawa was founded by Tetsu Ikuzawa, a pioneering figure in Japanese motorsport from the 1960s to the 1980s. He first rose to prominence with a landmark victory at the 1964 Japan Grand Prix in a Skyline GT, igniting the ‘Skyline Legend’. He went on to race for Frank Williams, earning victories in Formula 3 and Formula 2. In 1967, he became the first Japanese driver to compete at Le Mans 24 Hours, also claiming class victory at the Nürburgring 500km. He later joined Porsche as a factory driver and tested for Lotus F1 under Colin Chapman.
As a team owner, he established Team Ikuzawa, competing in both two- and four-wheel disciplines including the infamous Le Mans pole-position for Mark Blundell at Nissan, entries at the Isle of Man TT, and the creation of his own Formula 1 team
Today, Mai Ikuzawa, his daughter carries the legacy forward as a creative force in fashion, design, and automotive culture and an advocate for Japanese motorsports. As the new Team Principal and Creative Director, she has transformed it into a modern cultural brand.
Under her direction, the team has merged Japanese motorsport heritage with contemporary aesthetics through high-profile collaborations across art, fashion, and luxury. Maintaining credibility both on and off the track, Team Ikuzawa is a fixture at prestigious events such as Goodwood Revival and the grass-roots Baja Mexican 1000. With a discerning global following and a growing presence across both motorsport and luxury spheres, the brand embodies a rare balance of precision and provocation, positioning itself as a modern authority in performance, design, and cultural expression.
